12000 Year Old Temple
If the Guinness World Record is given for the most mysterious site on this entire earth, then it should be given to Gobekli Tepe in Turkey. Perhaps some of you might have heard the name of this place before. It is the oldest megalithic site ever found. It is not only the oldest but also the biggest and mysterious. This place is about seven thousand years older than the site of Stonehenge.
There are more than 200 shaped pillars built here. 3D carving has also been done on those pillars. Till now no information has been found about who created this entire site, why and how. Carbon dating has revealed that this site is 11,600 years old. Gobekli Tepe holds so many secrets within itself that it may take decades or centuries to come out. It has been almost 30 years since it was discovered, but till now only five percent of this entire site has been explored. Friends, Gobekli Tepe is in a place named Antonia in South East of Türkiye.
This place is spread over an area of 22 acres. About 90 football grounds can be built in this much space. It is considered to be the oldest megalithic site built by human civilization. This prehistoric site was built at a time when people did not even know how to make stone tools. The site was built more than five thousand years before the wheel was first invented. This site is six thousand years older than the Mesopotamian civilization.
At that time there used to be some human civilization on earth. We don’t have any concrete information about this yet. Although Gobekli Tepe was first discovered in the 1960s by scholars from Chicago University and Istanbul University, but at that time everyone thought that perhaps it might be an ancient cemetery and no one would have paid attention to it. In 1994, German archaeologist Klaus Ciment explored this place and found it very special.
Seeing the huge slabs of limestone he understood that this place was not normal. This is some old Stonehenge site. This is how Gobekli Tepe was discovered for the first time. There are more than 200 T-shaped pillars here. Many pillars are still underground, which have not been taken out. The height of these pillars is 20 feet and their weight is more than 10 tons. How could the people of the ancient civilization have built such a heavy structure thousands of years ago, when the people of that time did not even know how to use any kind of tools.
Not only did he make pillars, but a lot of 3D carvings are also visible on them. The magnificent carvings of animals, humans and many symbols are still intact. The creativity level of those who made these must have been very high. But the question arises that why was this site created at all. There are many theories regarding the creation of the site. The most famous theory is that this place used to be a sacred site. This place was used for worship.
According to experts, the world’s oldest religion must have started from here and this must have been the world’s oldest temple. According to another theory, this place was used as a time capsule. That is, people of pre-historic civilization. Might be aware of time travel. Apart from this, according to some experts, this place used to be an astronomical observatory. This 3D carving made here is a symbol of the ancient constitution. But this is all just guesswork. If the mystery of Gobekli Tepe is really solved, then many mysteries related to human development may be revealed.
Many things can be known about ancient civilizations, but solving this mystery is not so easy. Many tricks are seen here. Actually, the excavation of this place has been banned and researchers cannot explore this place further. Only five percent of the Gobekli Tepe site has been discovered in the last 30 years. Friends, ground penetration radar shows that there are 200 pillars here but out of these only 72 pillars have been taken out. There are 20 circular sections made in this entire area and 10 to 12 pillars were made in each section.
But till now only six sections out of 20 have been excavated and that too not completely. Only five percent of the 22 acres of land has been excavated in the last 30 years. No deep research has been done at this place since the year 2008 till now. Graham Hancock is the man who drew the world’s attention to Gobekli Tepe. If archaeologists and researchers like this place so much and this place is really so mysterious then why does no one do research here. In fact, the responsibility of activating this place has been left to the future generation.
At present, work is being done to preserve this place and the tourism industry is being promoted. Perhaps you might be wondering who regulates all these things. Usually such historical sites are under the control of the government, but the story of Gobekli Tepe is a little different. The responsibility of management of this ancient site has been given to a Turkish private company, Joggers Group. This group also ran a funding program to preserve and research this place. But when we went deeper into this matter, we came to know that in reality there is no problem of funding here.
The chairman of this group, Fred Senk, is included in the list of world’s top billionaires. In such a situation, the question of money problem comes to an end. An interesting thing here is that Fred has been a part of the World Economic Forum for a long time. There has also been a 20-year partnership between this group and the World Economic Forum regarding the Gobekli Tepe site. This means that now the leaders of the World Economic Forum will also be responsible for the maintenance and management of this place.
But why are the leaders of this forum taking so much interest in an unknown site and a meeting is also being held at the global level regarding this. Friends. The World Economic Forum says this is a site the whole world should know about. It is the world’s oldest man-made megalithic site. Our aim is to make this place recognized across the world. But today the Economic Forum and Donors Group are seen in a different color. Both of them together are engaged in damaging this place and it is being developed as a tourist site. In the name of preserving Gobekli Tape, a large roof has been built over it and heavy machinery and tools were used to build this roof.
Not only this, a 900 meter long concrete road has also been built in this site. A platform area and work base have also been built around the main area. Standing on which people can easily see the entire site. Dogar Group and World Economic Forum are doing their own thing in the name of preservation. Friends, Miss Skymate, the wife of the class mate who discovered this place, is also not at all happy with the development taking place here. Miss Screaming is also an archaeologist and she says that whenever she goes to Gobekli Tepe, she feels a lot of pain after seeing this place.
This place has been completely destroyed. Heavy equipments are being used here. Long concrete roads have been laid. The historical importance of this place has been destroyed. These allegations of Egypt were quite serious. Türkiye’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism Department responded to his allegations. The ministry says that all the allegations of Egypt are baseless. The site of Gobekli Tepe is not threatened at all. Only wooden walkways have been built at this place and concrete has not been used. Its historical importance will always remain intact. But in the pictures shared by Egypt, concrete blocks can be clearly seen.
Friends, the decision to hand over the entire management of a site like Gobekli Tepe to a private firm is not right at all. Even today about 128 pillars exist underground. Those pillars should be taken out as soon as possible and there is a need to research them in detail. If some scientists really come together and do deep research on Gobekli Tape site, then we can know many secrets related to human history. UNESCO should have the rightful rights over this place, which can take the responsibility of preserving Gobekli Tepe in the right way.
It is also believed that the carvings made at the site of Gobekli Tepe have a deep connection with other Stonehenge sites in the world. But it is wrong to say anything without research.
