History Of Taliban
Friends, these days you must be hearing discussion about Taliban everywhere. Which has recently captured Afghanistan and is also claiming to form its own government there. So let us know in today’s video what is Taliban, what is the relationship between Afghanistan and Taliban and how Osama Bin Laden enters here. Also why did USA send its army to Afghanistan. Friends, although this story started long ago, we cover it from Nineteen 70. When communist leader and President of Afghanistan Noor Mohammad Taraki was killed by a follow communist leader Hafizullah Amin.
Although Turkey had also tried to kill Amin earlier, but it was not successful. Now when progress is murdered, the Soviet Union also starts interfering in Afghanistan to promote communism. Let us tell you that here the Communist Party was already divided into two groups, whose ideologies were completely different from each other. But now the war going on between Communists and Islamists had also become an issue. Let us tell you that in 2020, a revolution also took place in Afghanistan’s neighboring country Iran, which is known as Iranian Revolution.
The situation here was very similar to Afghanistan where on one side there were Islamists and on the other side there were leftists and communists. Iran’s King Mohammad Reza Pahlavi believed in modernism and secularism. He also did economic development in Iran. But it is said that along with good comes many bad things too. Raja Raza did something similar. Out of greed for power, he got people from the opposite party killed. Also the protesters were put in jail. The Parliament there was also dismissed.
It was because of his dictatorship that Islamists took over Iran. Seeing all this happening in Iran, Amin felt that like Iran, there might be an Islamist takeover in Afghanistan too. That is why he started making many masks to keep the religious people operating. Copies of Quran were also distributed. Also, he started taking the name of Allah repeatedly in his speech. So that by doing all this he can bring the Islamists to his side. But the ground reality was that the people of Afghanistan did not like Amen at all. Friends, before the Islamists could cover Afghanistan in December 2010, the Soviet Union came in between and changed the entire equation.
In fact, Amin had played a lot with the ideology of communism in order to promote Islamists, which was a big mistake in the eyes of the Soviet Union. That is why his army first came to Afghanistan and murdered Hafizullah Aamir. Apart from this, a geo-politics region also comes to the fore that at that time the Cold War had started between the USA and the Soviet Union. That is why if the Soviet Union leaves its influence in Afghanistan, then another country will come under its control which will help it fight against the USA. Now after the murder of Aamir, Babar Kamal was made the head of the government there.
He promised that he would make a new constitution for Afghanistan. Besides, freedom of speech, freedom of religion etc. will also be provided. At this time, people started feeling that now Afghanistan is going in the right direction and it will also get a pause. But how was this possible in America? Here let us tell you that even in countries like Sepia and Vietnam, the Soviet Union or America had given human rights, so America was thinking why not use Afghanistan to take revenge from the Soviet Union.
For this, America supported the Mujahideen in Afghanistan, whose ideology was opposite to that of the Communists. Pakistan and Arabia were already in its support and now America also joined it, which the CIA named Operation Cyclone. Friends, these Mujahideen were guerrilla fighters in the beginning but they were getting a lot of support from Pakistan’s ISI, British search agency MI Six and America’s CIA etc. Due to which now not only guns but also anti-aircraft missiles were available as weapons. Due to this, the Soviet Union was facing many problems in Afghanistan.
Here, in nineteen, Afghanistan’s President Dr. Mohammad Najibullah signed a Geneva Accord with Pakistan. According to which both the countries will not interfere in each other’s affairs. The guarantors of this agreement are the Soviet Union and the USA. In which the USA promises that if the Soviet Union withdraws its army from Afghanistan, then they will also stop supplying weapons to the Mujahideen.
After which, in February, the Soviet Union withdraws its army from Afghanistan. However, by this time the Soviet Union had also disintegrated. Many of those countries had separated. Later, it separated and became a big country, Russia. Due to all this he also leaves Afghanistan. On the other hand, Najibullah tries his best to maintain peace in Afghanistan. A new constitution was also brought in 1957, due to which now Afghanistan will not be ruled by only one party like other communist countries, but elections will be held for all the parties.
Then new parliamentary elections were held in 1998, in which Najibullah’s party PDP won, due to which it came back to power. as well as 19In 1990, Afghanistan was declared an Islamic Republic, after which all its communist powers were destroyed. Najibullah also tried to promote foreign investment and private investment in Afghanistan. But on the other hand, America still had not stopped supplying weapons to the Mujahideen and the Mujahideen were so adamant that they even boycotted the elections.
He still felt that Islam was in danger. In this way this civil war continues continuously. In 1992, the Mujahideen almost won this civil war. Friends, Mujahideen was an Islamist group but it was made up of different people whose ideologies did not match each other and all were mad with the greed for power. Due to which fighting starts within their group. Finally in 1992, Burhanuddin Rabbani becomes the new leader of the Islamic State of Afghanistan. But even after this, the atmosphere of peace does not last long and in the next few years, Taliban is born there which removes the Mujahideen leader from power in 1996.
Friends, if we understand Taliban, then in Pashto language it means student. Initially there were about 50 students in this group whose leader was Mulla Omar. But then gradually some Afghan refugees from Pakistan also joined it, who were even more religious activists. Pashtuns also believed in the ideology of nationalism. Just as Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were not only supporting, America is also considered to have a big role in this, because whatever efforts America made to bring democracy there, it ruined everything by supplying weapons to the Mujahideen.
America not only got weapons but also got thousands of such books printed which were full of violent images and were also promoting extreme ideology. In September 1996, the Taliban easily captured Kabul and established the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. In the beginning, Taliban created a peaceful environment in some areas of Afghanistan and also stabilized itself due to which people also joined them. But with time, the actual thinking of Taliban becomes visible to everyone, which was presenting a different aspect.
He had banned many things in Afghanistan like cinema, music, football, TV, kite flying, photography, painting. Even the internet and education of girls above 10 years of age are banned. Under Taliban rule, it became compulsory for men to keep beard and women to wear burqa. Along with this, the former President Najibullah is also killed by these people and they also start killing people with non-Pashtun ideology. Thousands of Muslims were killed and Christians also started being prostituted. To identify Hindus, they started being sold separately.
Seeing all this happening in Afghanistan, it started getting criticized all over the world. But three countries Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates accepted Taliban as a government. Then by the end of 1990, some Mujahideen forces tried to fight the Taliban, known as the Northern Alliance, whose head was Ahmed Shah Masood. But they lose their battle in 2001 and Masood is also killed. Just two days later, on September 11, 2001, a terrorist group named Al Qaeda conducts 9/11 attacks in the USA.
The leader of Al Qaeda at this time was a Saudi terrorist, Laden, who was given a place to hide by the Taliban after the attack and he also told America in one of his letters that this was revenge for those Muslims who were tortured in Libya, Somalia and Afghanistan. Are. After which America, with the support of the Northern Alliance of Mujahideen, completely defeats the Taliban in December 2001 and Ahmed Shah Masood’s MD Hamid Karzai is made the new President there. After which a new constitution was again made in Afghanistan in 2004.
At this time the relations between India and Pakistan had also become quite strong. Then in 2011, US forces kill Osama Bin Laden. During this entire time, the US had sent its army to maintain peace in Afghanistan. So that they could suppress the Taliban and at the same time get support for the new democratic government. But with time, Taliban does not end but continues carrying out shootouts and bombings in Afghanistan and neighboring countries in which thousands of civilians are killed.
Then in February 2020, US President Donald Trump talks about a peace agreement with the Taliban. If they break their ties with groups like Al Qaeda then they will withdraw the army from Afghanistan. Because the expenditure of American forces in Afghanistan was becoming very high. According to an estimate, more than two trillion dollars was spent. And the Americans were also against fighting a war that was not theirs. He remained sitting in that country for almost 20 years where many of his people were killed unnecessarily.
Then in the year 2021, when Biden became the President of America, he decided that before the anniversary of 9/11, he would withdraw his army from Afghanistan and he did the same. After which the power of Taliban increased a lot and it captured the entire Afghanistan. Now his rule has been going on there for almost a year.
